Visualization Viewpoints Department of IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications Magazine (created by T-M Rhyne – Visualization Viewpoints Editor)
Visualization Viewpoints articles offer detailed technical opinions on trends in visualization or reports on how visualization has contributed to the comprehension of data. We encourage discussions of challenges or limitations in today’s methods and areas of potential new topics of research. We are also interested in application discussions that focus on the physical, life or social sciences, engineering, or commerce, for example, or related to the process of visualization in general. We strongly encourage an emphasis on lessons learned from practical experience for application discussions, particularly where visualization has been employed in a real, working environment.
Listing from July/August 1999 -> September/October 2024 (in reverse chronological order):
Note: The Visualization Blackboard Department was renamed to the Visualization Viewpoints Department starting with the July/August 1999 issue of IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications Magazine. From 1999 – 2001, the Visualization Viewpoints Department was co-edited by Theresa-Marie Rhyne and Lloyd Treinish. With the May/June 2002 IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications Issue to the present, Theresa-Marie Rhyne has served as Editor.
